3 easy classic summer cocktails to make at home

Summer used to love it when in school. The only difference between then and now was that the word “vacation” came along with the word “summer.” The heat never bothered me; all I could think was” no more studies”. How many of the so-called grown-ups remember the summer when it used to be beautiful? The kid is grown, and summer no longer brings the joy it once did. All we do now is complain about the heat. However, it continues to get hotter and hotter with each passing year. However, if you love cocktails, there may be a quick, short-term solution available. Some call it “summer cocktails “. And just like the heat, the list of cocktails continues to improve. Today, let us churn out three classic summer cocktails that can be easily made at home.

Americano cocktail

The Americano cocktail is one of my all-time go-to cocktails, considering the ease of preparation and the bittersweet notes it offers. A precursor to the Negroni, the Americano cocktail is lighter in alcohol content compared to the Negroni. The subtle, sweet flavours of the Red Vermouth help cut down the Campari’s bitter notes. The soda water, along with oils from the orange zest, transforms this into one super refreshing Summer cocktail.

 Ingredients

  1. Campari
  2. Sweet Vermouth
  3. Soda Water
  4. Orange Zest
  5. Ice
Equipment
  1. Measuring Jigger
  2. Tall Glass
  3. Bar Spoon

How to make an Americano cocktail

  1. Add  ice to a tall glass
  2. Add 20 ml of Campari and red vermouth to the  glass

Americano is a simple and easy cocktail to make. The minimum effort required makes it a perfect go-to cocktail on a lazy day. It comes with slightly bitter notes from the Campari if you love Campari. Go for it 😉

Daiquiri

It is one of my favourite classic cocktails for its blissful flavours. It may surprise you how lime can be such an essential ingredient in cocktails. The simplicity of the Daiquiri shouldn’t fool you; if done well, it could sweep you off your feet. That’s what it precisely did when I first sipped it 🙂 .  It was surprisingly refreshing for an easy and simple cocktail. With notes of the white rum perfectly complementing the flavours from the lime and sugar. A match made in heaven.

You would undeniably find Daiquiri on the list of most summer cocktail drinks. On a warm summer day, a daiquiri would not be a bad option to go to. It would be quite a challenge to stop with just one. And last thing you would know, you’ve been swept off your feet ;). If done well, it’s worth every penny.

Habibi, this could be your life-changing moment on a warm summer day 😉 . One of my all-time favourite summer cocktails.

Mojito

How could we miss the Mojito when it comes to Summer cocktails? One of the most familiar names in cocktails. And indeed, right up there when it comes to the top-selling classic cocktails globally. You could have a mojito any time of the year, but on a warm summer day? It fits in perfectly. It could also be called the stepping stone towards cocktails. Most of the cocktail drinkers out there must, for once, have tried the mojito. While for some, it might even be their first cocktail they’ve tried. For me, the Mojito was the first cocktail I tried. And if I were allotted a batch for it, I would undoubtedly wear it with pride.

The ingredients used in a mojito can effortlessly connect with most people. Coming from a country that thrives on Nimbu pain (lime juice), the mojito is just the perfect drink for a warm summer. Not only does it refresh you like lime juice, but the rum also helps lift your spirits. No matter which part of the world you are in. You are just a bar away from a mojito unless you find yourself in a dry state or country.

Ingredients

  1. White rum
  2. Fresh Mint Leaves
  3. Sugar
  4. Soda Water
  5. Ice
Equipment
  1. Measuring Jigger
  2. Muddler
  3. Barspoon
  4. Tall glass

How to make a mojito

  1. Tap and drop 10 mint leaves into a tall glass
  2. Squeeze and drop 3 lime wedges into the same glass
  3. Add 2 bar spoon of sugar and muddle without smashing the mint leaves
  4. Fill the glass half with cracked ice. Now add 50 ml of white rum to it
  5. Now, fill the glass with cracked ice and add not more than 20 ml of soda water
  6. Garnish with a bunch of fresh spring leaves

These aren’t the only cocktails you could have on a warm summer day. The summer cocktail list is humongous, and individual preferences always differ. It’s just the few cocktails we picked up of the many out there, keeping in mind the ingredients and ease of making them. For now, we have just selected three simple and easy summer cocktails from the lot to make at home.

Cheers
Drink responsibly
