Coffee is one of the top three consumed beverages globally. It can also be considered a natural energy booster. It has always been my go-to drink when I need to stay awake, and for many others as well. Not just a wake-up but also a great refreshing drink. It won’t be wrong to call it ” The baap (Father) of all energy drinks. You can enjoy it at any time of day or in any season of the year. For now, we try to add some spirit to it. Here we have come up with five easy coffee cocktails you can make at home.

“How would you like your coffee?” is one of the most delightful phrases to hear. This is especially true when it’s delivered in a warm and welcoming tone. A sign that I might be at a coffee shop, but when it’s not, I’m sure I’m at home :). With all the different variants of it available in the market, it makes it challenging to settle on one. I recall being a DJ in Dubai and feeling quite exhausted one evening. This was noticed by a steward who came up and offered me a shot of coffee. I can’t recall what coffee it exactly was (I believe I was too drunk to notice), but I never slept after that;) . And this is how coffee became my energy booster.

It’s the first thing I have when I wake up and the last before I head to bed. Coffee is now, and will always remain, my best go-to drink. However, the plan is not to wake you up or put you to sleep, but to add some spirit to your coffee and make it more spiritFULL. Have you heard about the espresso martini? Well, this has nothing to do with it 🙂 . Now, when we say ‘Martini,’ it is generally understood to be a combination of gin and vermouth. But surprisingly, neither is present in the espresso martini. And then it comes to some outstanding and yet simple and easy cocktails to make. This one here is a simple and easy-to-make vodka and coffee cocktail at home

  1. Vodka
  2. Instant Coffee
  3. Simple Syrup
  4. Fresh Cream
  5. Ice

  1. Measuring jigger

How to make a vodka and coffee cocktail

  1. Add 2 bar spoon of instant coffee powder, 15ml of sugar syrup cocktail shaker.
  2. Stir the concoction nicely.
  3. Now, 30 ml of fresh cream.
  4. Fill the shaker with ice.
  5. Add 60 ml of vodka to the shaker and close it.
  6. Give it a nice hard shake and strain the the drink over a whiskey glass with ice.
  7. Walla! 3 of this coffee and vodka cocktail and you’re on the floor 😉

  1. Gin
  2. Instant coffee powder
  3. Triple sec syrup
  4. Fresh cream
  5. Mint
  6. Cream

How to make a Gin and coffee cocktail

  1. Add 2 tablespoons of instant coffee powder and 15 ml of triple sec syrup to a cocktail shaker.
  2. Stir the concoction nicely.
  3. Now, 40 ml of fresh cream.
  4. Fill the shaker with ice and place some fresh mint on top of the ice
  5. Add 50 ml of gin to the shaker and close it.
  6. Give it a nice hard shake and strain the the drink over a whiskey glass with ice.
  7. Garnish it with a sprig of mint.

You need not be a rum lover to give this old monk cocktail a try. Here again, we have a simple and easy cocktail with Old Monk and coffee

  2. Instant Coffee
  3. Simple syrup
  4. Fresh Cream

How to make a Old Monk and coffee cocktail

  1. Add 2 tablespoons of instant coffee powder and 15 ml of sugar syrup to a cocktail shaker.
  2. Stir the concoction nicely.
  3. Now, 30 ml of fresh cream.
  4. Add 50 mL of Old Monk dark rum to the shaker .
  5. Fill the shaker with ice and close.

Bourbon whiskey, as we are all aware, is made of at least 51% corn. This is where I first experimented with coffee in cocktails, and boy, it was an instant hit. The notes from the bourbon whiskey are in perfect harmony with the flavours from the coffee. At a private party, of all the whiskey cocktails that were churned that evening, the bourbon coffee cocktail was the only one to run out of ingredients. Yep! We ran out of coffee powder, but bourbon was still flowing. This should be one spectacular reason enough for anyone to try this whiskey and coffee cocktail. Now, all you need is a bourbon whiskey. Coffee? That shouldn’t be an issue. If you love coffee, the bourbon coffee cocktail is one cocktail you don’t want to miss.

  1. Add 2 bar spoon of instant coffee powder, 2 bar spoon of sugar and 2 bar spoon of water to a cocktail shaker.
  2. Stir the concoction nicely.
  3. Now, 50 ml of fresh cream.
  4. Add 50 ml of bourbon whiskey to the shaker.
  5. Fill the shaker with ice and close it.
  6. Give it a nice hard shake and strain the the drink over a whiskey glass with ice.

Though I love my VSOP straight up or with a dash of ice, when it comes to a brandy cocktail, this is the one I would choose. A hot toddy would no doubt be the go-to cocktail on a cold winter, but this brandy coffee cocktail would be quite soothing for an all-season brandy cocktail. It’s brandy and coffee for that magical all-year-round cocktail 😉

How to make a brandy and coffee cocktail

  1. Add 1 spoon of instant coffee powder to a cocktail shaker
  2. Now, add 15 ml of vanilla syrup and 60 ml of fresh cream.
  3. Add 60 ml of brandy to the shaker.
  4. Fill the shaker with ice and close it.
  5. Give it a nice hard shake and strain the the drink over a cocktail glass.
  6. Walla! There you got yourself one super Brandy coffee cocktail.

When it comes to coffee, it comes in different shades and colours 🙂 And we all like it our way. Not necessary that your way is my way, and my way is your way.
